Read the rules below and reserve on this online calendar.

24th floor Graduate Study Lounge: The lounge is often used for quiet study, and we ask residents to maintain a library-quiet atmosphere when others are using the space for that purpose. While residents can have lunch or dinner in a small group (<= 8 people), this lounge is NOT meant for partying and if anyone is found partying in this lounge they may be fined and the police may be called to handle the situation. While the lounge cannot be reserved, the room at the corner may be reserved for studying and for online meetings (add to the calendar) and the TV room may be reserved as well (add to the calendar).

Please keep in mind ID cards are needed for access and the same basic rules apply to this space as any other common space inside of Tang Hall, especially noise level since the space will be shared.

Lounge Usage Policy

1.  Expected Usage Of the study lounge: The study lounge is designated primarily for study, academic, and work-related activities, and small personal gatherings.

2. Cleanliness: All occupants are required to tidy the area before leaving.

3. Quiet Hours: To maintain the study lounge as a suitable study space, occupants must adhere to quiet hour policies and loud noise is strictly discouraged.

4. Alcohol Policy: Alcohol is strictly prohibited in the annex.

Reservation Policy (Corner Room and TV room Only)

1. Reservation System: Reservations for the corner room and the TV room should be made through a publicly accessible online calendar. The reservation is only valid when the reserving party’s name and room numbers are entered in the description of the calendar event. Example calendar event title: “Corner study room, your name, your apartment number” or “TV room, your name, your apartment number”.

2. Reservation Limitations: No single reservation may exceed four consecutive hours. The room is intended for groups of up to 4-5 individuals.

3. Occupancy Protocol: In the event of a valid reservation, occupants are expected to vacate the room if requested by the reserving party.

4. Usage Limitations: Occupants may reserve the corner room for a maximum of 16 hours per week, with a daily limit of 4 hours.

Usage of Remaining Rooms

The other two rooms (the ones except the TV room and the corner room) operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The main lobby is for shared usage, and not for reservation.

Note: This policy is based on the expectation of residents’ cooperation in using the study lounge fairly and respecting others’ reservations. If necessary, an additional sign-in-to-edit policy may be implemented in the calendar to prevent tampering with reservations.
